Donegal Centre for Independent Living (DCIL) is the lead organisation of disabled people for disabled people promoting Independent Living in Donegal, Ireland. It was established to promote, support and encourage Independent Living for disabled people. This is achieved through the promotion and development of a range of services and lobbying to remove attitudinal and environmental barriers that restrict disabled people’s lives. DCIL is underpinned by the philosophy of Independent Living, which promotes Choice, Control, Empowerment and Rights for all disabled people to live and participate in their communities. The essence of DCIL is that disabled people should be included in society and to be allowed to fulfill their potential as much as everybody else.
As part of DCIL’s campaign for independent living we are asking various icon figures in Donegal to validate and support our campaign and the work of DCIL. Last Sunday the Donegal GAA Team participated in a promotional video which we hope will educate, inform and enable the Donegal general public to identify with the work we are involved with.
Please feel free to circulate the video to your friends and colleagues to make Independent Living a reality and a right for all.
