On 9th and 10th November 2017 ENIL Director Zara Todd and ENIL Board member Nadia Hadad (representing the European Disability Forum) attended the first meeting of the new Fundamental Rights Platform Advisory Panel. The Fundamental Rights Platform (FRP) is hosted by the Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA).
The advisory panel consists of a broad range of civil society representatives, including those from religious organisations, legal organisations, human rights organisations and trade unions; which provide a civil society perspective on FRA’s work and support the organisation to engage with civil society.
Both Zara and Nadia were elected to sit on the advisory panel for its next term.
The Panel discussed in particular the future development of the FRP, including expanding registration of civil society organisations from the national level, as well as questions regarding civil society space in the EU, and gave input on the upcoming Fundamental Rights Forum 2018.
Civil society organisations at local, national and European levels can sign up to the platform here.
