Freedom Drive Update: 9 Months To Go

Freedom Drive Update: 9 Months To Go

We can now confirm the venues for the different events during the Freedom Drive. The ENIL General Assembly, the conference and the celebration will take place at the Brussels Autoworld on 27 September.

The Autoworld is a conference venue and museum on the history of cars in Parc du Cinquantenaire. Parc du Cinquantenaire is located close to the ENIL office, the European Parliament and the European Commission buildings. For more information about the venue, please click here.

The march on 27 September will start at the Autoworld, go to the European Parliament and go back to the Autoworld via the European Commission.

Meetings on 24 – 25 September will take place at Mundo J, on Rue du l’Industrie 10, where ENIL’s Secretariat is based. The independent living development meetings on 28 September will also take place there, or at the offices or other EU organisations.

Remember to plan ahead:

Please do not forget to book your accommodation in Brussels, or nearby. September is a busy period in Brussels, so if you leave it for too late, you might not be able to find rooms, or they may be too expensive. Dates to book are from the 24 – 28 September 2017.

The goals of the ENIL 2017 Freedom Drive:

·      To continue raising awareness on the need for an accessible Brussels – our European capital
·      Independent Living exchange for inspiration of ENIL members
·      Developing partnerships to promote Independent Living

Tentative plan:

24 – 25 September:  Independent Living inspirational meeting of ENIL members with the topic ‘Investment in the future’
26 September: National MEP meetings – meet your MEPs and visit Brussels
27 September:
10:00h – 12:00h: ENIL General Assembly
13:30h – 15:30h: March from the Parliament to the European Commission
15:30h – 22:00h: Conference and celebration
28 September: Independent Living development meetings – various meetings with EU organisations to develop Independent Living

See you in Brussels!
