Esti Arraztio leaves ENIL after her 9-month internship and wants to say a few words about this enriching experience:
“I am Esti Arraztio from San Sebastian, the Basque Country, and I have been working in ENIL as an intern in the office in Sweden as ENIL executive director’s assistant, Jamie Bolling.
Mainly I helped with the European Independent Living Day and the Brussels Freedom Drive coordination but my tasks also included updating ENIL membership list, social media, controlling ENIL Staff and Board activities, being in contact with other organizations and supporters and controlling budget among others.
I take with me from this experience many positive aspects such as having learnt about working in an NGO, techniques to do lobby work and coordinating and organizing events at European level and daily administrative tasks in general.
Since this was my first time working in the disability field, I found it really interesting and I think there are still many things to work on. I encourage everyone to hear ENIL’s philosophy and Independent Living values as one can learn a lot from it.
Taking everything into account, the experience has surpassed my expectations and I keep very good memories in my mind! I would like to thank ENIL and Fomento San Sebastian, the city’s Development Agency and Department of Economic Promotion, for giving me this opportunity and especially to all ENIL team and everyone who helped me during this time.
I wish good luck with the projects! You all work really hard and I am sure you will achieve all your objectives!”
