Promoting access to justice: procedural accommodations for persons with disabilities. Online event on 20 June, from 10:00 to 13:00 CET

As part of the Liti-Gate project, the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) is pleased to announce its upcoming webinar on procedural accommodations — an essential tool to ensure the equal participation of persons with disabilities in judicial proceedings.

Date: Friday 20 June 2025
Time: 10:00–13:00 CET
Location: Online session

This event is free of charge.

Spotlight on ENIL’s Session:

This interactive webinar will explore how procedural accommodations can support persons with disabilities to effectively access justice, in line with Article 13 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.

We will share promising practices across Europe, including innovative approaches like facilitator models introduced in Northern Ireland and other jurisdictions. The session will highlight concrete ways to make legal systems more inclusive, from accessible communication formats and support persons to assistive technologies and procedural flexibility.

Speakers will include legal professionals, disability rights advocates, and persons with lived experience. The full programme will be announced soon.
