Online members’ meeting of the European Network on Independent Living – ENIL

UPDATE: You can find Nina’s presentation here, Adolf’s speech here, and the summary report of the meeting here.

After our successful regional members’ meeting in Poland in 2019, ENIL is organising a two-day programme of online events on 14-15 September 2020.

The events on the 14th September are for ENIL members only, while the webinar (on Independent Living for all) on the 15th September is open to anyone that is interested.

The topics that will be addressed on 14th September include Personal Assistance and how it works, De-institutionalisation, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has affected disabled people in Europe. They were chosen in a survey sent out to members in June (with the most popular topic used for the webinar on 15th September). In order to address them more effectively, we have prepared a range of online activities that include the presentation of the first data from our Independent Living Survey, a keynote presentation on Personal Assistance legislation by Adolf Ratzka, and regional groups and plenary discussions among our members.

We hope that this virtual members’ meeting will be a place for fruitful discussions, exchange of experience and information, and finally that it will contribute to even more solidarity and cooperation between everyone involved, strengthening the European Independent Living movement.

Time: Monday 14th September 2020, at 13:00 – 16:30 CEST (with a break at 14:30 – 15:00)
