On June 18, the Disability Pride Parade will be held in Oslo for the fourth year in a row. The Disability Pride Parade is Norway’s largest parade for people with disabilities. Organizers are hoping that this year’s event will be the biggest yet.
The goal of the parade is to help people with disabilities take their rightful place in society as proud, strong and visible citizens, as well as to dispel common stereotypes and myths about people with disabilities. The Disability Pride Parade is a demonstration characterized by a positive atmosphere, attitude and sense of humor that demonstrates that society must take people with disabilities into account.
Each year, a Pride prize is awarded to the person or group that has made a significant contribution to removing obstacles in society that hinder people with disabilities.
