ENIL North is growing!
Rine Vik from Oslo, Norway, is the new coordinator of ENIL North. She has started working on breathing new life into this regional sub-office, which covers the Nordic and Baltic countries.
Rine started working as a Communications Advisor in Uloba Independent Living Norway in 2016. From this position, she is now continuing the task of turning ENIL North into a real hub for cooperation, networking and sharing for disabled people and our allies. Rine has a strong background in human rights. She studied a Master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Studies and has built many years of experience working in human rights organizations across the world, and a longtime knowledge of the Norwegian Independent Living movement. As many of the challenges we face are common to the Northern countries, ENIL North provides an important opportunity to strengthen our work through regional cooperation. The plans for the future are many, and include webinars on various issues, study visits between countries, and other collaboration projects. If you are located in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark or Iceland and want to support ENIL North’s work to strengthen disability rights, Independent Living awareness, and peer support in these countries, please join our Facebook group or contact Rine directly at email@example.com.

Invitation: ENIL North Kick-off Webinar on 8th June 19:00h Central European Time (CET)
ENIL North is now growing, and to kick-start the network’s transformation into a real hub for cooperation, networking and sharing on Independent Living, we invite you to the ENIL North Kick-off Webinar on 8th June, at 19:00h CET.
This web-based seminar will be the first of many, and will gather people interested in and working on Independent Living from the various Nordic and Baltic countries. Some are new to the Independent Living movement, while others have been a part of it for years, but the focus of the webinar will be to get to know each other, determine where we stand in the various countries, and decide where we want to go as a network. It will be a great opportunity to join forces so that we can further strengthen the Independent Living movement and awareness in the North.
As the webinar will hopefully take the form of a discussion, rather than a lecture, I would appreciate if you could take a quick look at the following points on the agenda before we start:
– Introduction to the ENIL North
– The Independent Living movement in your country
– Shared challenges, threats and opportunities in the North
– What do we want ENIL North to become?
– How do we get there? How can we cooperate?
– Freedom Drive and the participation from the Northern countries
– Future webinars: Ideas for topics?
The webinar will last for approximately 1,5 to 2 hours, and will be held in English. Register by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org stating your name, age and country of residence.
Looking forward to meeting you on 8th June!
