Panel Discussion: Political Participation of Persons with Disabilities in Developing countries

To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities as well as the Human Rights Day CBM and Human Rights Watch are holding a panel discussion on the Political Participation of Persons with Disabilities in Developing countries on the 4th December 2012, at 18.00-20.00 hrs in the European Parliament ( Paul-Henri Spaak Building, room P7C050). This event will be hosted by Members of the European Parliament, Gay Mitchell ( EPP Ireland) and Michael Cashman ( S&D UK).

The main objective is to inform the future work of key International and EU actors on best practices and the main obstacles related to the issue of political participation of persons with disabilities in developing countries. The programme includes Béral Mbaikoubou, Member of the Chadian Parliament and Kyle Knight, Disability Rights Researcher, Human Rights Watch.
