Antonia Trikalioti, Greece Antonía Trikaliotiis a Greek disabled activist who has co-founded the Independent Living Organisation of Greece “i-living” of which she is the secretary general. She has a degree in financial accounting and a master’s degree in information systems. Antonía has been a scientific assistant of a Member of the European Parliament, contributing to the 2021-2030 EU strategy on the rights of disabled persons, and to parliamentary questions and inputs concerning disabled people’s rights. She has been employed in the local governance for 18 years. She has been a member of the working group for legislating personal assistance of the Greek Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and a co-writer of the Ministry’s proposition leading to the Greek Act for the right to personal assistance. Antonía has represented “i-living” during the consultations for the Greek Strategic plan on Deinstitutionalisation both for disabled persons and for children. She has contributed to the drafting of the UN Guidelines on deinstitutionalization. She was the scientific supervisor of the working group of the Administrative Region of Thessaly drafting the strategy on the rights of disabled persons for 2021-2027, a member of the equivalent working group of the Administrative Region of West Macedonia, as well as the member specialized in Independent Living of the permanent committee of disabled women of the Administrative Region of Attica. She speaks Greek, English, and French. She is a fiction writer and an awarded theatrical scriptwriter. Antonía, as a board member of ENIL, aims to focus on the ending of the misuse of EU funds. |
