There are only 6 months left until ENIL Freedom Drive 2019, which means just half a year until we meet with many of you in Brussels, and together show the world that we are here, proud, strong and visible! Not to forget that we will also be celebrating our 30th Anniversary!
In this month’s FD update, we are happy to be able to finally give an answer to one of your favorite questions: “How can I register for the Freedom Drive?”. We are pleased to tell you that the registration process is now open, and here is everything you need to know about it:
Where can I register?
You can register at this link. If you are going as a group, each person needs to complete a separate registration form. You do NOT need to complete a separate form for your Personal Assistant, but please include their details in your form.
When should I register?
Please register as soon as possible, and no later than 1st 13th (the deadline has been extended) September 2019. The earlier you register, the easier it will be for us make sure that you can get into all the events. Please note that spaces for the workshop and the hearing in the European Parliament are limited, and will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
Will all the events take place?
All the events will take place, as announced here. If there is very little interest in any of the workshops, they might not take place. But, we will have at least 4 workshops and will let you know closer to the date which workshops are going ahead.
Do I need to register if I am not coming to all the events?
Yes, you need to register even if you are coming to just one of the events. However, if you are coming ONLY to the march, you do not need to complete a registration form or pay the fee.
Why do I need to pay a participation fee?
ENIL does not receive funding from the European Commission and we have a very limited budget for the Freedom Drive this year. We were able to get many things free of charge, but still need to pay for catering, documents, T-shirts, access costs etc. That is why we ask everyone to pay a small participation fee to cover some of these costs. If you are not sure whether you are a member or not, please contact kamil.goungor@enil.eu.
How much does it cost?
If you are our member, the fee is 30 euros per person (or 50 euros if you are coming with a personal assistant). If you are not our member, the fee is 50 euros per person (or 80 euros if you are coming with a personal assistant).
Do I need to pay the participation fee in advance?
We ask everyone to pay their participation fee in advance, by bank transfer or Pay Pal. This will make it much easier and faster to register everyone during the Freedom Drive. If you cannot pay in advance, please let us know, and we will let you know where you can pay on the 1st October. Please note that it won’t be possible to pay on the 2nd or 3rd October. If you are paying for a group, please send a list of the people you paid for to marco.carnesecchi@enil.eu.
Why do you need my ID information?
Several events are taking place in the European Commission and the European Parliament buildings. Due to security measures, we will need to provide them with a list of participants and their ID information, in advance. We are asking for this information now, so we do not have to contact you again later. The information will be kept safe, in line with our Privacy Policy.
Why are you asking if I am planning to use public transport?
We would like to know how many people are planning to use public transport, so we can ask the Brussels transport company to put in place additional accessible buses. In case you are planning to use public transport, we will also send you an e-mail with detailed instructions about how to request assistance to use the metro, trains etc.
Call for volunteers – Reminder
Finally, we wish to remind you about our call for volunteers during the Freedom Drive week. If you are based in Brussels and you are interested in helping out during the event, please contact Kamil Goungor, our Development Officer and contact point for the Freedom Drive at: kamil.goungor@enil.eu (same applies for every FD question you might have).
