At the European Network on Independent Living – ENIL, we started planning the next Freedom Drive, scheduled to take place from the 26th – 28th September 2022, in Brussels. However, whereas usually we would plan it with the assumption that many of our members and allies will take part, we feel we have to do it a bit differently this time.
Although we are seeing a return to live events, the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing and many people still have concerns about travelling. Also, many DPOs may have been affected by the pandemic, losing funding or struggling in other ways.
For this reason, we have created a short survey to help us understand how many organisations and/or individuals plan to come to Brussels. This is not registration for the event, and we understand that in many cases it will depend on funding being available. We will soon provide ideas to help with your fundraising efforts.
In addition to the in-person event, we are considering holding simultaneous online events, or streaming the sessions. There is a question in the survey whether you would prefer this option.
In summary, if you have taken part in one of the previous Freedom Drives, but will skip the one next year, let us know! Also, if you are planning to join us, please let us know as well!
