Our Right, Our Vote! Legal action to dismantle barriers to political participation for persons with disabilities at the EU elections
In 2024, the European Union will hold elections to select Members of the European Parliament across all 27 EU Member States. And yet, millions of persons with disabilities continue to face legal, institutional and accessibility barriers, denying them the right to take part in the democratic process.
The European Network on Independent Living (ENIL), the Validity Foundation and Covington & Burling LLP are announcing a major legal initiative to challenge barriers to political participation in the courts. We are looking for disabled people who have been deprived of their right to participate in EU politics.
