During the event, ENIL will present findings from its Annual Report on the Independent Living Pillars, focusing on sexual and reproductive health and rights. The report looks at the barriers disabled people face when trying to access information, services, relationships, intimacy, reproductive healthcare and bodily autonomy.
The event will also create space for an open and honest discussion. Participants will be invited to share experiences, reflections and ideas on how disabled people’s sexual and reproductive rights can be better recognised, protected and supported.
Sexuality, relationships and reproductive health are often left out of conversations about disabled people’s rights. Too often, disabled people are treated as if these parts of life do not belong to us. This event will challenge that.
Together, we will discuss what full access to sexual and reproductive rights should mean in practice, and how the Independent Living movement can continue to break the stigma.
Happy Disability Pride Month! ♿
