The Youth Leadership Programme (YLP) involves recruiting 4 young disabled activists to spend a week with an organisation advocating for independent living and the rights of disabled people in another European country for 1 week each. Today, you’ll learn about the story of Ivana Jankovic who is from Montenegro and going to Budapest, Hungary.

YLP is co-funded by the European Union (CERV programme) and is part of ENIL’s core work.

My name is Elisa and I am a young woman with disabilities. I work with two of Italy’s largest associations of people with disabilities. I am involved in writing articles, and I host radio programs on the rights of people with disabilities. Above all, I am involved in monitoring the CRPD compliance of Italian laws and help with proposals for amendments. In my spare time, besides studying for my master’s degree in law, I enjoy reading, writing, and watching movies, TV series, and rugby matches.

I am happy to visit Independent Living Movement Ireland (ILMI).
