The European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) is looking for a Development Officer to join our Secretariat on a part time basis for the period of 12 months. The role of the Development Officer will be to increase membership involvement in the organisation, to strengthen the way we communicate with our members and to develop activities that can be supported by our members. This is a new position at ENIL, the aim of which is to strengthen the organisation and help to diversify our funding. The position is funded by the Open Society Foundations – Public Health Programme.

ENIL is looking for someone who subscribes to the Independent Living philosophy and the social model of disability, and is passionate about promoting Independent Living. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, initiative, ideas and an ability to work independently. An ideal candidate would also have experience in the Independent Living movement, and would be familiar with Independent Living organisations in their own country and/or other European countries.

In turn, ENIL offers flexible working conditions and an opportunity to work in a small, but highly motivated international team of Independent Living activists. The position is limited to 12 months, though should additional funding become available, there is a chance the contract could be extended.
