In November, UN OHCHR announced that the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, Olivier De Shutter, will conduct an official visit to the European Union from 25 November 2020 – 29 January 2021. On this occasion, they asked interested individuals and organisation to provide their input on priority issues and assist him in preparing for the visit.

The SR’s visit will focus on the relationship between the internal market and poverty, the impact of socio-economic governance and associated policies on poverty, inequality, and solution exclusion. Special attention will be dedicated to the Covid-19 response, through the “Next Generation EU” funding.

ENIL responded to this call and submitted a paper focusing on the following thematic areas: funding and investments, minimum wages/income, Child Guarantee and European Unemployment Re-insurance Scheme and European Education Area.
