The European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) is happy to announce that the next Freedom Drive will take place from 21 – 23 September 2021 in Brussels. This will be our 10th Freedom Drive and we look forward to meeting friends and colleagues from all over Europe and beyond once again, for three days of sharing, learning, protest, strategising and fun.
The 2021 Freedom Drive will start with an all-day General Assembly on 21 September, at the Charlemagne Building, featuring exciting speakers from the movement and some holding important positions. We will be consulting with our members about who they would like to hear from, so please make sure to follow ENIL on Facebook. On the second day, 22 September, we will be taking to the streets of Brussels to protest and meeting with Members of the European Parliament. The third day, 23 September, is reserved for workshops, and for additional meetings with MEPs. Once again, we will be reaching out to our members about topics for the workshops.
Although we are in the early stages of planning the 2021 Freedom Drive, we will soon send you a number of fundraising suggestions. Please also save the date and make sure to add the Freedom Drive to your plans for next year.
If you are new to the Freedom Drive, please have a look at the report from last year’s edition. It is an event all Independent Living activists and allies should attend (at least once in their lifetime), and we do hope to welcome many of you in Brussels next year.
