The Independent Living Movement has always been about emancipation and self-empowerment. We don`t need professionals to enable us. We enable ourselves. As disabled people it is for us and only us to say what we need. It is the job of others to scale back their own ideas and listen.
As disabled people we face as many barriers to lives on an equal level to others than ever. With austerity gaining force, the gap is likely to grow. We have formulated policy demands to reverse the trend.
We are asking decision-makers at the EU and the national level to listen closely and implement our demands. Disabled people deserve equality!
