On the 6th of May, staff members of the European Network on Independent Living held a meeting with a team from MOVEO, an Austria-based organization dedicated to improve the inclusion of disabled individuals through sustainable projects and awareness-raising campaigns.
The meeting aimed to explore new collaboration opportunities between disability organizations and share best practices for addressing various disability-related challenges. Key topics included personal assistance and independent living, with discussions focusing on effective models and the European Union’s role in protecting and advancing the rights of disabled people.
Additionally, the conversation addressed strategies for creating inclusive workplaces. This included training professionals to identify and eliminate barriers to participation for disabled individuals.
Finally, MOVEO sought advice from ENIL on promotion of the inclusion of people with disabilities in Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) projects as active participants and trainers.
Such meetings are very important, as networking and the exchange of ideas and best practices between organizations can greatly advance the cause of emancipation for disabled individuals.
